The Township of Ocean Historical Museum was founded:
- to promote awareness and an appreciation for the history of the community
- to preserve materials that help illustrate the history of the area.
- to prepare displays and exhibits and publish works that encourage understanding of local history.
- to establish an archive of local print material which can be used for research.
- to teach children about the development of the community from Indian days to the present.
- to bring people together who are interested in the history of Ocean Township and the Shore area.

The Township Of Ocean Historical Museum is a cultural resource that invites the residents of central New Jersey to learn and respect our regional past. It is our mission to collect, preserve, and exhibit the records, memorabilia, and artifacts that tell the story of Ocean Township and its surrounding communities and in that telling generate understanding, appreciation, and enjoyment.
Our Vision
We are an open door to history--unlocking its treasure and creating a community, not limited by age or borders, informed and inspired by those who came before us.
Exhibits
All exhibits are open to the public during regularly scheduled Museum hours.
Admission is free
Donations are welcome and help us keep the Museum open.
